Speakers & Bios

Jeff Tranel – Jeff Tranel has been an Agricultural and Business Management Economist with Colorado State University for more than 30 years. His professional interests focus on estate planning, business succession, financial management, income tax management, and human resource management. Jeff has addressed agricultural audiences and worked with more than 8,000 farm and ranch families throughout Colorado, in 24 other states, and in the countries of Belarus, Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand. He also sits on the National Farm Income Tax Task Force.

Corey Hicks – Corey Hicks is the County Executive Director and has have worked for FSA since 1992.  Colorado native from the San Luis Valley. He works dillginetly to ensure farmers have the access to the programs they need from the Farm Service Agency.

Brent Young – Dr. Brent Young serves as an Agricultural Business Management Economist with Colorado State University Extension. Brent strives help farmers and ranchers manage risk through the development, delivery and evaluation of non-credit educational programming. Additionally, he provides information on Farm Bill Title 1 production support and Title 11 commodity insurance programs, crop and livestock enterprise analysis, financial management strategies, and commodity marketing.
